The biorefinery part of the ERDF Insect Pilot Plant is part of the VITO biomass fractionation and conversion pilot infrastructure located in Mol.
The VITO pilot consists of various technical equipment that can be connected in a plug-and-play mode according to need. As a result, the whole forms a flexible research infrastructure that provides an answer to possible questions from companies and researchers. The scale allows to prepare test fractions in sufficient quantities to evaluate the applicability of the fractions.
